Mountain Biking Tours in Phang Nga Province
Phuket and Krabi are rapidly becoming over-developed. However, just across the Sarasin Bridge (the bridge to Phuket) is an enchanting rural area that offers everything that any level of adventurer would want, including very nice cultural interaction with the local villagers.
Our goal in designing this mountain biking trip was to find a biking route that was mostly flat in a hilly area. It's taken a lot of time to put this together, but what we've got is a multi-day trip that courses through rubber plantations, secondary growth, dirt roads, secondary roads and through small friendly villages. There’s a lot of single track riding on this route too.
The Surat Thani to Phuket Coast to Coast route is rather challenging, though we've had beginners successfully complete it. Hardcore mountain bikers will appreciate the mountain crossings. Beginners can opt out of this and just focus on the more gentle trails and secondary roads. The entire region is rich with trails and secondary roads, so customized trips are easy to arrange.
The cross country route that starts in Nakhon Si Thamarat only has two mild mountain crossings. They are easy. The rest is scenic and fairly flat. There is no tourism along this entire route. It is rural southern Thailand at its best. You can see a video here.
Biking trips are also available all year, every month. The rainy season provides more comfortable tempertures and you can get better deals on hotels and other aspects of your holiday. All in all, there's no bad time to come biking in Southern Thailand.
This trip includes all transfers from any accommodations on Phuket or the Phuket airport or a bus station, all equipment, accommodations once on the trip, all meals, all snacks, national park fees and insurance.
We also offer a nice cycling day trip to Koh Yao Noi in Phang Nga Bay. this is a trip for just about everyone. We tailor each trip to suit our guests. If you want an easy ride on secondary road, that's easy to arrange. If you'd like to push it and do more single track dirt trails, that's possible too. Our cycling guide was born and raised on Koh Yao Noi. Khun Run is not a Phuket guide coming to Koh Yao Noi to run this trip.
